Edit – 4 October 2008: I have just tryed the software updater and it seems that this update is not avilable for me or my country (Bulgaria). The firmware update may be considered as rumor, but let me know if the update is available for you in the comments.
Just wanted the proud owners of the Nokia N95 8GB know that there is a new firmware available for this phone. It’s version 30.
A lot of stuff has been improved:
* Nokia Maps 2.0 client now built-in
* Full N-Gage client now built-in
* Nokia Search 4.0 now includes the Google plug-in
* Share online 3.0
* Enablers for Comes With Music (watch this space)
* Download! application updated to version 3.1.50
* Upgrade to Music Player, new visualisations added
* Update for Flash Lite 3 (improved viewing of video streaming sites like YouTube)
* Current bettery consumption improvements (for e.g. WLAN scanning and GPS)
* New baseline for VoIP (with significant error corrections)
* Incoming call number is displayed in additon to name of the contact (finally!)
* Realplayer supports FLV format (i.e FLV files can be played directly like MP4, so not third-party FLV player is needed now)
I personally have not yet upgraded to this firmware, but I will do it later today, because it seems that it’s worth doing…
